Nashville

It's been a while......and I've been a lot of places, but on this blog I'm going to write about my trip to Nashville (Franklin) Tennessee. It was beautiful, and Glenda packed in a full and fun week for Jacque, Pat, Carol and me. We had a riot of a time on the Nashtrash Tour.

We had a wonderful and entertaining night at the Bluebird Cafe, and ate at the Loveless Cafe and had the world famous biscuits.

Lots and lots of antique malls and garage sales and the best flea market at the Nahville fair grounds. I was in heaven. Glenda got this beautiful white iron table and chairs for only $100. We had so much fun we went back again. Now I'm going to dream about that flea market....

I got this pink antique quilt for under $40.

Isn't this a cute little apron? Old embroidery on a little dish towel. I need to make some of these.

We all bought lots of table cloths and napkins. Here's a sample . . .

This white wicker basket I had to have because I could envision it on my kitchen table with my roses on it. I love it. The roses are in a "spooner" which I had not heard of before.

Actually I learned a few more things on my trip, such as....
Meat 'n Three

Sorghum

Broasted Chicken

Never heard of any of these things. I'm a California girl.

This table tent Carol found at a garage sale and let me get it. Thanks Carol. Now I need to find a smaller card table to fit the top of the circus tent....

I wish I had a picture of this..... but you just have to picture it. On our drive back to Nashville from our trip to Paducah, Kentucky (We had a great time at the quilt show.... hot...but fun), we stopped for dinner at the Cracker Barrel. When it was time for us to leave, Glenda ran into the ladies room..... she thought. When she started to leave the stall she was in she saw a man using the urinal and she screamed and slammed the stall door. (Later she told us that the poor guy had a tough time finishing his task). She called me on my cell and wispered with panic in her voice "I'm in the men's room and I'm trapped" I asked her what was I supposed to do about it? When she finally came out she told us that she didn't even notice the urinals when she went in and she had to wait untill the room was empty before she could make her escape. We laughed all the rest of the way back to Tennessee. It was great!

This quilt shop was closed....darn. Oh well, their loss. We were ready to spend some money.

We all had a wonderful time and fell in love with Franklin, Tennessee. The people were friendly, the Dogwood trees were blooming and Glenda wins the Hostess Award from all of us.

Mom. The bathroom story is absolutely hilarious. I'm in the computer lab laughing my head off. Do you remember Mother's Weekend 2004 when we went to Winger's in Idaho Falls with the Gilmore's? I went in the girls bathroom that night and was wondering why a girl was in the boy's bathroom....oops.
